Open Meeting Notes — 2 December 2025

Present: Jason Joyce (Chair), Rob Sharpe (Treasurer), Rob Sawyer, Lesley Seddon, Ellie Howarth, Helen Battilana (Secretary).

  1. Apologies: Paddy Carrington. Ellie Howarth welcomed to her first meeting.
  2. Matters arising: all committee cycling stories/photos sent to JJ for the website. RSa to collect the designer cycling top from Jennifer Hilliard and sell it online.
  3. Treasurer’s report: assets totalling £669.56 (Skipton £501.21, PayPal £168.35). Further discussion of the PayPal button and contact form — needs further work, possibly from Lisa J. RSa arranged for HB to receive CW emails directly.
Once the website payment method is sorted, RSh will email all members requesting 2026 subs, with a deadline.
  4. Local Transport Plan Consultation: completed online ahead of the 7 December deadline; members encouraged to submit individual responses too.
  5. Cycling map revision: quotation from Richard Ross (Active Maps) — 1,000 copies for £1,300, or 2,500 for £1,540. HB suggested a small working group from January. RSh to start grant applications.
  6. Website updating: several outstanding items — distinguishing new membership vs. renewal, removing outdated events, updating campaigns/successes, local bike shops, fixing dead links on Getting Started. JaJ volunteered to work on this shortly; remaining issues may need Lisa J.
  7. LCWIP / Active Travel: current Manchester Rd phase extends to Styal Rd; second phase (to town centre via Cliff Rd) expected next financial year. HB relayed U3A cyclists’ concern that the new wanded cycle path looks too narrow for street-cleaning machines, risking leaf buildup. RSh supporting WTC Clerk Matthew’s funding application for the first Wilmslow Ways route (Alderley Rd–Altrincham Rd).
  8. Plans for 2026: next Bramble Bash planned for Saturday 28 February, 10:00 — location TBC.

Next meeting: Tuesday 20 January, 7:30pm at Unico.
