Open Meeting Notes — 5 March 2026
Present: Jason Joyce (Chair), Rob Sharpe (Treasurer), Rob Sawyer, Lesley Seddon, Paddy Carrington, Helen Battilana (Secretary).
- Apologies: none
- Matters arising: RSa, RSh and HB received training from JJ on uploading to the website.
- Treasurer’s report: assets totalling £842.25 (Skipton Building Society £590.11, PayPal £252.14). Unrenewed members discussed — HB to contact BW and PE.
- Map funding: Waters Corporation declined to fund. RSh proposes the WTC Wilmslow Ways grant cover printing of the updated map (plus signage), since it will show new routing.
- Feedback from Waters: no funding, but offered a publicity stall one weekday lunchtime, possibly May.
- Private land bike stands: Cllr. Elaine Evans (24/2) says the project now has WTC backing and should “go live in April.” No further news from CEC on suitable locations.
- Wilmslow Ways: proposed route walked with PC and HB; signage locations and wording finalised. Informal meeting with Town Clerk Matthew — supportive. WTC funding available after April. Signage costing now needed. JJ to publicise via the Members WhatsApp group with photos from PC/RSh.
- Manchester Rd / Hall Rd: nothing official on Manchester Rd but progressing. Query re: speed limit reduction (40→30) outstanding. Hall Rd cycle route planning comments submitted by RSa and PC; HB unable to submit via the portal.
- CATS Zoom meeting (3/3): most of committee attended; overview of Active Travel schemes from CEC’s Clair Visco and Hannah Webster. RSh sent a summary afterwards.
- #ConnectedWilmslow Community Fair (8/3): PC has materials ready; JJ to join the stall; LS to publicise Breeze Rides.
- Next Bramble Bash: top section of A538 path, Sunday 19 April, 10:00. HB to check parking at The Honey Bee’s rear car park.
- Plans for 2026: focus on completing Wilmslow Ways, the updated map, and increasing membership.
